Marc and Janyla joined our staff this past summer! Both of them are AGE UP program and Southend Ultimate alumni and bring in lots of experience as long time coaches and members of the community. We’re so excited to have both of them join us full time!
Marc he/him has been part of the AGE UP community since he was in 8th grade at Asa Mercer Middle School. He was in the FIRST BOYS PROGRAM EVER in 2013 and was the youngest participant in that cohort. On joining the staff, Marc said, ” I wanted to be a part of Age Up to create another full circle moment that I experienced myself. I believe that being aware of social justice and giving back to the community that built you up is IMPORTANTE.”

Janyla she/her joined the frisbee team in 7th grade at Asa Mercer Middle School. Back then, she had no idea what the sport was and joined because all her friends were doing it! On reflecting about being part of the Southend ultimate community, Janyla said, “after participating in the southend frisbee community as a player and seeing how much it positively impacted me, I wanted to continue doing so as a Coach. I began coaching at Mercer 2018 and I am still coaching there today!”
