Aileen (she/they) Finance Committee & Thrifting Consultant

It’s Aileen!!!! They have been involved with AGEUP since 2020 after Ari invited them to join the lockdown zoom programming! Aileen joined the board 2022 and is a part of the board’s finance committee and one of our in-house style/thrifting consultants. She recommends thrifting at the Bins (wear gloves!!), Lifelong, and – this might the a controversial – the Goodwill on the Ave.

Don’t ick Aileen’s vibe by putting ranch on pizza! The texture🤢! The taste combo🤢! Ranch good on its own…but keep them separate please! #savethepizza!

Aimie, Professional Cat Cuddler

Meet Aimie Kawai! Not only is Aimie taller than Hana, but she’s known as the better Kawai as she brings desserts to board meetings!! From muffins to cookies, Aimie makes delicious goodies. She wasn’t always so fond of baking. Growing up, her fear of fridges limited her time in the kitchen, and this made her join ultimate frisbee. She instantly fell in love with the sport and has been playing since middle school. Aimie has played for all the teams possible in Seattle, name any Seattle professional team and you bet she has been on it. Aside from killing it out on the field, in her free time she loves to read and avoid dairy products due to her EXTREME lactose intolerance. To befriend Aimie, start the conversation about cats to create a long lasting friendship.

Amy, Co-President

Amy (She/Her) is AGE UP’s board president since 2020?? Currently attending University of Washington, she is majoring in business administration; Human Resources management and information systems. Ayan

Bailey, (she/they) Board Artist

Meet Bailey, an artiste, frisbee player, and the self-dubbed “designated distractor” of the AGE UP board! They love AGE UP because of the food, giggles, and values. In their free time, they like hosting friends and cooking — they can start by making something simple and end up cooking for hours. Of course, as a cook, it makes sense that her controversial food opinion is: why make something okay when you can make it tasty?

Chris, Board Comedian

Chris has been a part of AGE UP since the very beginning. He has been a part of Seattle ultimate for the past 24 years and currently coaches at Franklin High school. What he loves about AGE UP is that it is space where adults and youth work together to better our community. In his free time, Chris can be found cooking curries and grilled meats. His second job is being a stand-up comedian for the board and battling for popularity with his sister. He volunteers for an emotional support person for animals traveling on airplanes.

Emma, Brings the Best dessert to Board Meetings / Board Lawyer

Emma has been a board member since the beginning! Over the years, she has blessed everyone with her delicious cooking from amazing main dishes to mouth watering desserts. Her favorite dessert to create is laminated pastries such as croissants. Besides being a phenomenal chef, Emma loves to hike and be outdoor whenever she can! If she had time, she would love to take a long walk everyday! Emma is is also known as the board lawyer, consistently reading policies to make sure all our programs are protected and insured. We love Emma! I’m not sure what we would do without her and the amazing contributions to our board.

Melissa (she/her)

Melissa is INFP twins with Hana! She is obviously a Scorpio. She has been playing frisbee since 6th grade at Aki, and is now a junior at Rainier Beach HS. She hates playing in the winter when her hands are cold and the frisbee hits her cold hands 🥶.

Melissa likes being on the board because she gets to meet everyone’s cats and join all the subcommittees, including the money committee and the exec team! Also she is the official power point artist. Controversial opinions: her favorite board cat is Aimie’s cat, she loves ketchup chips, she likes pineapple on pizza, and she will cancel you if you don’t like mint chocolate.

Natalie, Board Designer

One of our newest additions to the board, Natalie is probably one of the coolest people we know. She’s 5’7″, really good at spreadsheets, and can recite 83 digits of Pi from memory. Whoa. Ask her to design some really cool graphics and logos if you need them – she’s a pro.

Roy (he/him)

Roy (he/him) is a youth board intern!! He currently attends Rainier Beach and plays ultimate frisbee for Franklin x Beach boys team. His first interaction was with the Boys Soufend middle school team for varsity. He loves how tight the AGE UP community is. His hobbies include photography, getting 8+ hours of sleep, and listening to music. FUN FACT: he has interviewed Kolohe Kai! And he thinks Raising Canes is overrated o.o
