Southend Club Teams

YOUTH PLAYING OPPORTUNITIES

We love being able to connect all the youth coming from different Southend schools! These club teams are supported and coached by AGE UP staff, southend school alumni, and community members who are all invested in the SOUFEND.

SOUTHEND MIDDLE SCHOOL CLUB

Every winter, we bring together Asa Mercer and Aki Kurose middle schools, and South Shore K-8 to play on Gx and Bx club teams, culminating in a tournament hosted by SevenHills Ultimate! This program has been running since 2018 and is a sweet opportunity for all our middle schoolers to build across southend school relationships and play higher level ultimate.

HIGH SCHOOL GX CLUB

In the fall, we support a high schooler run GX club team that brings in players from Franklin, Rainier Beach, and Cleveland high schools.

HIGH SCHOOL BX CLUB

During the winter, we run a southend based boys hs club team!

AGE UP & SOUTHEND ALUMNI PLAYING OPPORTUNITIES

AGE UP supports the organizing of SOUF & END, which are low to no cost, bipoc-led and bipoc-majority Southend alumni (+ friends) summer teams who participate in the USAU club season. Both programs started in 2018, when alumni came together and expressed their need for a safe space to play higher level organized ultimate that was more accessible to them.

SOUF

We wanted to create a place for BIPOC young men to get to play and be in charge of the culture, and not have to try to fit into white dominant club teams.

END

END stands for Empower N Decolonize. We have a good time and like to win things when we can.
