The Gx Cohort Program (previously called First Year Girls Program) is our longest running program here at AGE UP! Our Gx Cohort Program has run since 2010 and it is still going strong as it is currently being led by Program Coordinator, Taylor Hoang, and Co-Executive Director, Ari Lozano. This year, our cohort is made up of 45 middle school and high schoolers, which is our largest cohort since starting the program! At this program, we hire high school interns to support and lead workshops and facilitations about social issues that impact our communities first hand, but we also do a lot of other things like play very competitive board games, eat yummy food from restaurants in the Southend, go on retreats and field trips, and play some frisbee!
